Outreach Ministries

CrossRoads in Action

One of the clearest outreach strategies given in the Bible is found in Paul's instructions to his young protégé who was left on the ancient island of Crete to organize newly formed churches. The outreach strategy is simply this...do good deeds! No less than nine times in the short three-chapter letter we know as the Book of Titus, Paul says that our deeds...our public expressions of service and devotion to Christ are what God chooses to use to reach people. Here's a sampling of the strategy laid out in the Book of Titus:

"...in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified..."
(Titus 2:7)

"...who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds." (Titus 2:14)

"Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed, to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men." (Titus 3:1,2)

"This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men." (Titus 3:8)

There comes a time when we simply decide that we have talked about outreach long enough, and it's time to stop talking and start doing. CrossRoads in Action (CIA) is the missional aspect of our outreach strategy that actively engages our community through acts of service to charities, hospitals, and nursing homes. We also use CIA to help follow-up on first-time visitors to our church. We have service projects and names of people who need a visit each Wednesday. Just come prepared to serve!

We hope you will join us on Wednesday evenings at 6:45 for CIA.

"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your
good works, and glorify God in the day of visitation."
(Matt. 5:16)

CrossRoads Riders

CrossRoads Riders is CrossRoads' motorcycle club. The MISSION of the "CrossRoads Riders" is friendship evangelism.

The group invites All riders to join them. A schedule of rides is prepared each spring, with rides taking place about every other week. For the most part, the rides are "supper runs" to local restaurants, but some longer rides are scheduled as well, such as overnighters to Carlsbad and Big Bend.

Members in charge are, Ray & Kay McDowell, phone: 432.367.9260 or 432.413.6666. You may contact them by e-Mail by clicking on their name above. Please contact them if you have questions or you would like to be added to our database to receive mail about these rides.

Bass Club...Casting to Gather

A Christian fishing club who's purpose is to engage in competitive bass fishing, to enjoy the sport of fishing, to learn more about bass fishing from one another, to fellowship together, and to be Christian examples as we reach out to others and help them become connected to Jesus Christ.

Members are both experienced and novice anglers of all ages. Members are encouraged to invite friends and family and to reach out to others to join with us at the monthly tournaments. Tournaments are normally held on Fridays and Saturdays or Saturdays only. Because of distance to lakes and the work schedules of many, there are some months when tournaments are held on Saturday and Sunday. This happens only 2 or 3 times each year. At these times, we take time to have worship in testimonies and Bible lessons.

We accept members or guests that do not own their own boats, although each tournament will be dependent on the current make-up of our club to ensure everyone has a ride.
